How to read the queue

Are these people or applications?

They’re expressions of interest (EOIs). One person can submit several EOIs, and one EOI can select the 189, 190 and 491 and several states, so the same person can appear in more than one count.

Why are some numbers “fewer than 20”?

The official dashboard hides counts below 20 to protect privacy. We keep them hidden and show totals as a range.

Why do 190 and 491 scores look higher?

SkillSelect adds the nomination points to the EOI: 5 for the 190 and 15 for the 491. We add them to your score for those visas so you compare like with like.

Does this tell me when I’ll be invited?

No. Invitations depend on each round’s size, occupation ceilings, the date of effect when scores tie, and for the 190 and 491 on each state’s own process. The queue shows the competition at and above your score, which is the part rounds don’t publish.

How often is it updated?

Monthly. The dashboard publishes a snapshot at the end of each month, and we refresh within a day or two of it appearing.
